This pendant shows a needlepainted portrait inspired by the movie The Last Unicorn. This movie-based off the book-was one of my favorite movies growing up-the beautiful animation helped of course, but even as a kid I loved the themes of immortality, of stories and purpose. One of my favorite moments was when the Unicorn gets turned into a human girl and she experiences what it is like to be mortal-what it means to be human. Slowly, she starts to lose the aloof serenity she had as an immortal being and starts to feel love, sorrow and regret. Human emotions. King Haggard says her eyes have become empty, like eyes that have never seen a unicorn, but to me her eyes are full of what it means to be human. I tried to convey that into this little portrait of her, and create a dedication to this beautiful story.
