This embroidery has been created during my residency at Art Villa Garikula in the country of Georgia. You can see the project page for this residency period here. During this time, I wanted to explore human figures in relation to nature, the individual as part of a natural collective. This piece is my favorite from that experiment, it shows a woman upside down in a border of clouds. The nature here is more abstract than direct, no flowers or trees or anything, but it incloses her completely, she is a part of the world around her, even if that world is abstract and vague. It makes the piece more introspective, like a meditation on the world around her.
The embroidery measures 5.5 by 7.5 cm and is created with silk threads on silk fabric. The full piece measures 12 by 14 cm.
