The Hague Forest

This pendant was inspired by one of my favorite spots in het Haagse Bos, the forest near the central station of The Hague. The forest is the oldest part of The Hague and it’s where the rest of the city was build around initially. It used to be much larger, but there have also been a lot of plans in the past to get rid of it entirely, both Napoleon and the Nazi’s wanted to cut the trees to prevent rebels hiding in the forest, but it never happened and today still the forest is a beloved place for both citizens and visitors of the city and even the King has a palace in this forest. This little forest stream is right at the entrance of the forest, as you leave the busy roads behind and enter this special little spot of history and nature..
